Take and Read

Another list is in order. Here are some of my favorite, favorite books (though I think I'm missing some. I think reading is somehow sacred. It is delicious to sit with a cup of tea and a good book. There are few things lovelier.

Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen
Mansfield Park – Jane Austen
Emma – Jane Austen
The Count of Monte Cristo – Alexander Dumas
Les Miserables – Victor Hugo
David Copperfield – Charles Dickens
Wives and Daughters – Elizabeth Gaskell
The Jack Aubrey Series – Patrick O’Brian
The James Herriot books
The Anne of Green Gables books
The Lord of the Rings trilogy – J.R.R. Tolkein
The Narnia books – C.S. Lewis

Please do comment! I want to know your favorite books!

Anything by C.S. Lewis is worth any of my time. Jane Austin is always great. I also am putting a lot of time into some James Dobson books on parenting which have been helpful. Gotta love those strong-willed children!

I believe you forgot The Best of Calvin and Hobbs.
Seriously, A Severe Mercy is one of my favorites too. Everyone should read it for premarital counseling. Maybe I'll call Rex.
